It was red-letter day to St. Ann’s School Vadinar that a new venture was introduced in the school- NGC (National Governance Corps) by KPT. The entire programme was clipped with the Diwali celebration in the School. The Guest arrived at 8. 30 a m. Mr. G. Suresh, Dy. CVO, Kandla Port Trust (KPT) was the Chief Guest of the Day. Dr. G. S. Rao, COM, KPT, Vadinar, Miss. Rajshree, AO, KPT, Vadinar, Mr. Sanjay Goyal, Chief Manager, IOCL, Vadinar were the Guests of honour of the day.
The main guest and the other dignitaries were given a warm welcome and guard of honour led by the band students of St. Ann’s School under the able leadership of Mr. Vinodkumar. The programme officially began by invoking the blessing from the almighty God through the prayer dance by the students. Then Miss. Rajshree Dabke gave an elaborated introduction to NGC and its needs and benefits to the audience.
After the introductory part, Mr. G. Suresh, Dy. CVO., the chief guest of the day delivered the thought provoking and inspiring message on NGC and the inspiration and motivation that he received to put up a new venture to mould and frame the future citizens of our country. In his message he stressed the need and responsibility of the parents and teachers the role that they have to carry on their shoulders in forming the new generation. After the message, the selected students came to the stage and took the pledge read by Mr. G. Suresh in English and Dr. G.S. Rao in Hindi.
There were various cultural and dynamic Diwali programmes conducted by the students after the swearing ceremony. The prizes for the winners of the cultural competitions were distributed to the winners by the dignitaries on the dais. The programme was concluded by the vote of thanks by Fr. George CMI, Principal, St. Ann’s School. In his word, he reminded each one that this is new venture, a new seed planted in the garden of St. Ann’s and it is each one’s duty to water, nurture and provide good atmosphere that it may grow healthily and become a candle that vanishes the darkness in our society. The entire programme was over with the National Anthem by the band students.
